Come get a glimpse of what New Vocations is all about at their annual Open Barn and BBQ. You can tour the program’s brand-new training facility, meet the horses, enjoy a Southern-style dinner and open bar, and learn from educational demonstrations. This event will be held at the New Vocations at Mereworth Farm location, just 7 miles from the Kentucky Horse Park.

This year’s event will include a short program, including guest of honor Valerie Ashker, who will speak on why she chose to ride an off-track Thoroughbred across the nation. A group of New Vocations horses available for adoption will be analyzed and showcased in-hand in the John A. Hettinger Arena. Lindsey Partridge, 2015/2016 Trail Champion and 2016 Freestyle champion at the Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover, will also perform an entertaining demonstration with her 2017 Makeover horse and will offer insight into her OTTB training methods.

Tickets are $25. Kids 12 years old and under are free. RSVP required.

The event will be held on Friday, April 28, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at New Vocations at Mereworth Farm, located at 719 Dolan Lane, Lexington KY 40511.

Tickets on sale March 1. For questions, email sarah@horseadoption.com or call (330) 518-9001.
