Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

Bahama mama is a beautiful mare. She absolutely loves the trails. I have never met a throroughbred mare who is so willing to go down the trails by herself. She never even looked at the objects on the farm that so many other horses find to be “spooky”. It didn’t take much effort to encourage her into the water. She is very sensible and willing on the trails. She has a little bit of dressage background and willingly moves off the leg for a turn on the forehand or turn on the haunches. She has a nice balanced canter in the dressage ring and a steady rhythmic trot. Mama has anxiety issues when being mounted. She will prance and kick out, but once you’re in the saddle the confident, solid, steady Mama reappears. She settles right in and tries very hard to please. This mare has been passed over too long. We really need a competent person to step up that can either deal with her quirks or spend some time to help her overcome them. Mama gets along well with other horses and raised several foals. She’d no doubt make a good companion, as well.
