Cattle Thief is a wonderful minded big 3 year old with heaps of potential and tons of character. With wonderful balanced paces rarely seen in such a young big horse, he has cadence and length of stride. He has a pleasant disposition and is calm to handle. He has exceptionally good ground manners in all respects and has no problem with clippers, hot shoeing etc. Already 16.1h, he is still growing and will make 16.2hh at least by 4. This gelding will do best with someone looking to take their time and let him grow before strenuous work. He lunges nicely in both directions, has been ridden in the arena alone and with other horses working and jumping and remained calm. He has also been trail ridden which he seems to enjoy greatly and has encountered a variety of farm machinery and big noisy trucks without incident. He has already been started over ground poles and has free jumped just over 2 feet. He is on night turn out with other geldings and has actually been pastured over the past few months with a revolving number of other horses and has got along with all of them. Always good to catch, he has no vices. He retired from racing with only 2 starts. He was retired due to a suspensory injury. Cattle Thief has undergone a thorough evaluation by an orthopedic surgeon and has current x rays and ultrasounds from within the last month on file. He is considered suitable for low level jumping and we would encourage anyone considering adopting him is welcome to consult our vet and see his records.
