This adorable dark bay dappled gelding is looking for a person of his own. He was born on April Fool’s Day in 2002, need I say more? He had 9 races, $0 earnings, and retired with no apparent injuries. Although he only stands 15.1, his stout build easily carries an adult rider and takes up lots of leg. Dandy has had a little over a year of arena training and was also trail ridden.  He has three nicely balanced gaits, does simple lead changes, and can jump a small hunter course.  He has been to a neighboring hunter barn for additional training, and warms up nicely to new surroundings.

Although this adorable gelding has training in the hunter arena, as well as dressage, he has not worked for my current lesson program. I feel that Dandy may be better suited for a one-person rider/owner, as he absolutely loves the bonding and predictability of that one person. He has bucked under saddle. This is a rarity, however, and when paying attention to his mood, his frisky disposition is easily spotted before getting on and he is very predictable under saddle. Dandy has great ground manners and seeks affection.  He stands well for the farrier (sound barefoot), grooming, and tacking up.  We found that he stands quietly, untied, in his stall or aisle when saddling.  Dandy loves his turnout time and gets along very well with his 6 other paddock buddies. He is a super easy keeper, can be stalled or turned out 24/7.  He does crib, but is stopped with a strap. He has a cloudy left eye, possibly from track debris, but this does not seem to affect his vision. This is a wonderful gelding with tons of personality and you will surely fall head over heals when you meet him and he “greets” you. Dandy is current on shots and coggins, and was last dewormed and trimmed on September 28th.  For more info contact  Beth Lake   419-261-3210 (approved adopters only please)
