Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

With the look of an English steeplechaser, Dick stands 16.2hh and is solid and big boned. Having set a track record, Dick is now looking for quieter times. He enjoys turn out in small groups and has wonderful ground manners. Dick loves attention and will stand untied for everything including mane pulling and clipping. He does have a front bow but it is resolved and he is sound. Although he has had some basic schooling in the arena, his forte is trail riding which he greatly enjoys. He will need more ground work and flat work if he is to be used for ridden arena work and with the schooling he has had so far, he is coming along well. Dick is a kind, gentle horse that remembers his glory days and when treated like a winner, he will give back tenfold.
Dick raced 22 times and officially retired May of 2009 when he bowed his left front tendon. He has been fully rehabbed and spent the winter on turn out. He entered our program in February and has been sound for ring work and trail riding.
