Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.
Take Me ForGranted is one of the dozens of downsized broodmares we place each year. These matrons were virtually all broke to drive as two year olds, most raced, a few did not. But all have lived a very relaxed life for a number of years and transition so well to riding. Take Me Forgranted failed to produce profitable foals and was sent to New Vocations at age 10. She was broke to ride and adopted this winter by Nancy Collander. Nancy shares, “Wow – I am so high right now! I just got back from a 45 minute ride with MeMe – the first real test away from the farm. We went down the dirt road, across the little bridge, past the neighbors who have lots of horses, dogs, sheds, equipment and all kinds of stuff to spook at. She did a little bit of dancing and snorting when we first approached the property but after a couple good looks around, she was satisfied that nothing was going to kill her (not this time, anyway!) and on we went. Then a snowmobile approached about 60 feet away in the farm field and she barely even looked at it! Amazing! Two cars went by slowly and she just walked on. I am SO PLEASED with her! We have bonded incredibly and have a high trust level already. I love this girl!!
