Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

Fifty has been a great addition to our family. We started looking into adopting with NV for a long time before we finally chose Fifty as our first horse. Although my wife and I grew up around horses we have not owned one since our two boys have been born. Our oldest son, who is 17, became involved with horses through a friend. This prompted us to start the process of getting the farm ready for horses again. While working on the fences and getting them ready for a horse; Fifty came up for adoption. We did not hesitate and contacted Dot to finalize the adoption. It was a very easy and pleasant process.
We had to board Fifty at a friend’s farm until we had our farm ready. The first time we took him out on the trails was for a 4 hour ride and he did great. In fact, my youngest son was riding another horse who was not behaving very well so I traded to allow him to ride Fifty. Fifty was a champ. He followed and behaved as if we all had been together for years. We now have Fifty at our home farm and are all enjoying time with him everyday. He is a great trail horse for our family and look forward to adopting more horses in the near future. Thank you New Vocations for what you are doing.”
