Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

This is an attractive, pleasant pacing gelding, well mannered and easy to have around. Grinny was a top two year old, winning $143,000 and taking a mark of 1:51.4. He bowed a tendon the following year and has a fused pastern. He raced several more seasons, but wasn’t profitable. Grinny’s owner/trainer of the last three years said Grinny is sound, but won’t put in a maximum effort. I rode him out through the fields and through the cemetery his first time under saddle. Grinny stood quietly to mount and walked on a loose rein. He’s been ridden a couple of times on trails. He is confident and picks up a smooth rack when asked. I took Grinny into town for Trick or Treating. He was very good with all the angels, dragons, witches, fairies, and action figures crowded around, stroking his neck, legs, and face. He ignored the cars, trucks, and EMT vehicles with blinking lights. He’s only been ridden a handful of times, but he acts like a very nice all around family horse. He stands to be mounted and stood quietly on the street, on the sidewalk, and getting candy at peoples’ porches. Grinny is a pleasant, agreeable fellow that is sure to be a family favorite.
