Stylish and classy, Doc Otis is the perfect family horse! Originally adopted from New Vocations in November 2010, he’s proven himself safe on the trails and even has parades under his belt.
Doc trots in harness and under saddle. He has excellent manners and stands quietly when being harnessed. He’s friendly with people and comes up to you when approached in the pasture. He is the boss is the pasture, but is just fine around other horses on rides and drives. He has a very intelligent nature and as a result of that, needs a confident person to keep him in line as he tends to want to think for himself, so he would be a great horse for an intermediate rider.
He trailers well and has been on several drives/trail rides with various groups around the state, but he tends to be a follower more than a leader. On 6/24/2017 he led the Black Swamp Driving Club out onto South Dixie Hwy for a drive. It had a police escort to the back roads, then the police escort met the wagon train to escort them back.
