“Homewood” comes from some fantastic bloodlines! With no inbreeding through a five-cross pedigree report and a prolific presence of G1 Stake-ranked relatives, Homewood’s family is nothing short of outstanding. Unlike his more race-savvy ancestors, Homewood’s racing career was just 6 starts long though, and he didn’t show the same affinity for racing. He is happy to be a riding horse now and very much enjoys the lifestyle. Homewood loves his long hours in turnout and enjoys the company of his turnout buddies. He did get bossed around and intimidated by some of the more assertive horses, so he would best in a situation with other easy-going horses. While he is a more introverted personality, he genuinely loves getting one-on-one attention, so we’re sure he’ll flourish with ‘his person.’
Under saddle, Homewood is a team player. He pays attention and tries his best to do what’s right. He is beginning to develop a good sense of contact and he continues to develop more and more every ride. He is very responsive to leg and seat aid, and he is quite brave in new situations. He would do best with at least an advanced intermediate rider, and he could go in any direction as far as disciplines go.
He is eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover.
