Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

Leah a very sensible mare. She raced 17 times and retired because she was no longer competitive. Leah was turned out for almost a year prior to coming to New Vocations in March. She was quickly adopted by a teenage rider who did well with her on the flat all Spring and Summer. However, she was too green for her over fences. Leah has had limited schooling over fences and will improve with the proper training. She has jumped up to 2′ 6″ and has done some grid work. She is very willing and talanted. Leah is a no fuss mare who truly wants to please her rider. Nice mouth and works well in a frame. She is fun to ride, not spooky, can just get on and go. Easy to handle in all respects. She has also been trail ridden alone and did great. She settled in quickly and is very sweet. Leah should be suitable for any disciplines including jumping. She has no apparent injuries. Leah is a grandaughter of Storm Cat ( by Winthrop out of Rachel Grape). We have had other horses from her dams line befor and all have gone on to be nice show and pleasure horses because they had such a great mind.
