Lochness is an exceptionally pretty, clean legged with textbook conformation. He raced briefly as a young horse, but the past seven years are unknown. Lochness was rescued from a kill pen on Good Friday. He was so fat, that he absolutely was destined for steaks in Europe. His guardian angels had him vetted, vaccinated, wormed, shod, teeth floated, and quarantined him for five weeks. Lochness foundered in early March.  X-rays revealed a moderate rotation of 10 & 11 degrees in his front coffin bones.  The vet thought with time and a low carbohydrate diet that Lochness could be a pleasure mount.  Today, Lochness is trotting around the field sound, kicking up his heels with glee in the cool fall mornings.   He is full of personality and always comes when called.  Lochness is still green undersaddle with only a couple of lifetime rides.  Any competent rider will find him willing and eager to please.  Lochness has a smooth stepping pace and sets his head like a show horse.  Lochness needs a low carbohydrate diet and cannot tolerate lush spring grass.   He’ ll do well with someone that doesn’t have a lot of pasture.   In this time of high feed prices, Lochness is cheap to maintain, requiring only 2 – 3 lbs of Strategy a day and a grass hay.  It won’t cost as much to keep this fellow, and he sure needs a home.
