Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

This good natured, larger framed pacing gelding has spent the past ten years in a vocational education program. Now, the Great Oakes Vocational School is downsizing its horses and Meadealex was sent to New Vocations. For the past decade this kindly fellow has been groomed, ridden, and driven by teenagers. Meadealex is by the great Artsplace. He only raced four times and three of those starts he was driven by the kids. He’s been ridden in the ring and around the Vo Ed grounds, but probably not in an actual trail environment until Haylie did so a couple of times. As you can see in the video, Alex handled it well. This is an unusual opportunity to obtain a solid, well mannered, gelding that’s fully transitioned and tolerant of less experienced riders. Alex has strong, sound feet and legs. He is sturdy enough to carry a larger rider and naturally smooth gaited. Click on the link below the photos to view his video.
