Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

Met is only 15.3 but is very stout and thinks he is a 17h tall. This guy has a tough guy personality but is really harmless and fun. Met was started back under saddle at the end of October and is doing well. He has been over ground poles and cross rails and really seems to enjoy new challenges. This son of Carson City raced 19 times. At the end of his racing career he sustained a condylar fracture to his right hind leg. He was scheduled to be euthanized when the medical center offered to save him and do the surgery if he were to be donated afterwards. So Met had the surgery on June 19, 2009. He has been fully rehabbed with no problems. His prognosis is good, we have all medical records, and vet statement that he should be suitable for any discipline including some jumping. He would be well suited as a trail or pleasure mount although he does seem to be interested in working over ground poles. He has an active mind that easily gets bored, so he works best if his routine is changed up a bit. He stands well for the farrier, to be bathed, and groomed. He has no stall vices, is in great health and good weight.
