MonteBajo2

Monte is a solidly built horse with a good mind, very athletic and powerful, and has a lot of heart. He knows how to work and has a good sense of self. He is a quiet observer and really does like attention once he thinks you are worthy of his time. Monte thinks things through and isn’t the type to just jump right into anything without careful consideration. He is very kind and smart and a bit of a character by letting you know what he thinks of things.

Monte’s body type, carriage, and movement lends itself more for a career in Eventing, Jumpers or Dressage than that of a Hunter. He has a huge ground covering walk and the trot and canter have improved with more time and training. He will require at least an intermediate rider to teach him the normal basics like moving off leg and straightness, but has a good work ethic. He is learning to come into the bridle and understands basic lateral work. He didn’t even look twice at trotting and cantering over ground poles and enjoyed hopping over the small jump, his first time jumping. He should make a very fun and willing partner. Monte will be suitable for any discipline.

Monte had 34 starts, earned $69,318 and last raced 8-20-11.  He goes to turn out with two other geldings and is in the middle of the herd. Monte Bajo (FR) is by Distorted Humor out of River Sans Retour (FR) by Vacarme.

The video below is of Monte’s first time over ground poles and he really seemed to enjoy it even with all the noise and commotion going on in the barn. Monte’s belief is, ” why do I have to trot the poles when cantering is easier?” He thought he was a “Superstar” after just one round of poles.
