Native is a nice gelding that could make someone a very nice Dressage horse or low level Hunter because his powerful hind end and short back allows him the ability to lighten his front end and he carries a nice, natural rhythm when he is relaxed. He has come a long way in his training and when put to task, he steps up to the challenge. Native loves having an important job because he is still a competitor at heart and is still a showman as evident in the video where he is playing with us in the indoor. He knew where the camera was the whole time and used it to his advantage- life is good!

The dressage test he did was the first time he was asked to do something so far removed from racing and it didn’t even faze him. He just went to work as usual and had to add a few of his own opinions into it as he always does. He naturally took to working over ground poles because it suits his busy mind. Native definitely is ready to go onto his next career.

Native is currently going to turn out with two other geldings and is the alpha horse, trying to get his buddies to play with him. Native loves his turn out time and will thrive with as much turn out time as possible. Native has tons of personality, begs for attention from anyone passing by and will get disappointed when you leave, he is definitely a people horse and is one of the barn favorites. Native has no vices.

Native’s last race was 3/30/10 and he originally sold for $30,000 at Keeneland as a yearling. He placed in half of his 23 races and earned $107,168.

Native Tongue is by Indian Charlie out of Savannah Canon by Shuailaan.
