Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

What a nice fellow! Nonnel raced 221 times over nine years and certainly has the wisdom to show for it. He’s got over 5,000 miles in harness, has had at least a 1000 baths, been shod 100 times, and shipped 50 – 75 times. What a war horse. Nonnel had been ridden a couple of times at the track so when I got on him in the ice, snow, and frigid air, he acted like a seasoned trail horse. We walked down the road on a loose rein. He wasn’t concerned with going over the bridge, barking dogs or traffic. I was so pleased with his demeanor that I broke out singing “Happy Trails!” Nonnel has a smooth trot on a loose rein or will gait if you collect him in a leverage bit. He stands to be mounted and stands when you stop him along the road. This is one agreeable fellow. He’ll make a sweet 4-H project or all around family pleasure mount.
