Did you go see your horse before you adopted him or did you adopt him sight unseen?

GoodtoLook came to my farm for some rehab time before he went to the main New Vocations facility. I enjoyed having him in the barn, and he was always nice to work with.

What discipline(s) do you plan to show your horse in at the Makeover?

The plan right now is to do Working Ranch and Competitive Trail, but we will see where this journey takes us!

What is your training routine like?

So far we are low key, I just brought him home so it will be ground work for the next few weeks to learn about scary stuff and then we will introduce the western saddle and hope to go see cows by June!

What is your greatest accomplishment (to date) with your horse?

Gaining his trust, he’s kind of a grump.

What are your goals with your horse?

To transition him to a new career that he enjoys and to have fun during this process.

What is your favorite thing about your horse?

His personality, he is very particular about his people. Would refuse to come in at dinner when my feeders would go out for him, but would come when I call.

What quirks does your horse have?

As above you really have to earn your “worthiness” with him…. he’s funny about his people and what he will let them do. He does love his treats though! Hopefully that will help us in our training, and maybe I can teach him some tricks as well.
