Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

This is a gorgeous, sound, young, pacing mare that has already been on several trail rides. She is confident riding off alone or in a group and is fearless going down the road. Panpai gaits naturally in a mild leverage bit or will trot on a relaxed rein. She’s didn’t race and is still green enough that her adopter can choose to develop her rack or develop her trot. Panpai is short in stature which makes her easy to mount, but she has a big frame that can carry a large rider. Panpai trained in harness, but didn’t race. She raised a foal and has been a nanny mare for a couple of years at a major breeding farm. Laura Kennedy is currently continuing Panpai’s transition as a pleasure mount to help us get her adopted. Dr. Kennedy shares, “I lunged Panpai tonight, and she was just SO wonderful! Her personality is really coming out. She is very soft when worked on the ground. She bends her neck very nicely with just a little bit of pressure, will relax and almost put her nose on the ground when you ask her and turns on her forehand nicely, crossing over in back. Tonight she put it all together on the lunge line. She walked off nicely to start, not rushing into a trot or acting silly even though we were on top of the hill and it was windy and cool with the threat of rain. She halted very nicely when I asked and turned in to me, while staying out on the circle. When I asked her to trot she moved out beautifully but was also very easy to stop, even though she was very forward and enthusiastic about moving out. She is a very fast learner. When I took her back to the barn and let her go she stayed by me until I walked away. She’s such a sweet girl. I really was wishing I had a camera while I was lunging her. There were several times when she stopped, squared up, raised up that gorgeous head and neck of hers, pricked her ears and looked off into the distance – the perfect model of the noble horse.” Panpai is being placed from Dr.Laura Kennedy’s farm near Versailles, Kentucky.
