Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

Hi Everyone, I just needed to brag a little about the Standardbred we adopted from you several years ago, Rips Scooter (Sissy) who attended her first open show last Saturday, June 16th. This was also our daughter, Stephanie’s first horse show with a full sized horse (she had been showing ponies). Sissy & Stephanie took Grand Champion in the walk trot division and she took a 2nd place in Mares Halter. The judge kept remarking how beautiful Sissy was & that she “just couldn’t believe she was a Standardbred!” She is like a gentle giant, with the sweetest disposition anyone could ask for. The rest of this story is that Stephanie is also “adopted”. My husband and I are her legal guardians. Stephanie came to live with us a year and a half ago, after her grandfather passed away. She came to us as a frightened 14 year old with a lot of issues and problems, and is now avery beautiful and confident 16 year old who is the love of our lives. We feel that her working with horses has helped her to deal with and overcome the problems that were troubling her. She islooking forward to a future working as a farrier as well as training horses.
