Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

Santa is an elegant gelding with a lot of personality. He is a confident gelding and uncomplicated horse to ride. He raced 30 times won over $150,00 and retired in March. Upon retirement he had a mild case of EPM which we treated here at New Vocations. He has been fully rehabbed and is now being ridden 3 days a week. Santa is quickly gaining muscle tone back and is doing well (his video and photos are current taken in 6/24/09). During his race career his only injury was a knee chip in 2008. Surgery was done to remove the chip and he returned to run in three races in 2009. His knee looks good and x-rays were clean. Santa should be suitable for dressage or pleasure riding. He could also do some recreational jumping in the near future. He has a great mind and is not spooky or flighty.
