up steep hill

This big, strong, sound trotting gelding has been with the same family since he was a yearling.  Tag raced 107 times over five years and earned nearly $100,000!  They could have sold him to the Amish, but loved the horse enough to send him to New Vocations instead.  A family member stated, “Tag is a wonderful guy, SO friendly.  He loves ANYTHING you will feed him, but at the top of the list is peppermints, donuts, bagels… basically any pastry. He has fantastic manners and a lot of heart. He is one of my absolute favorites, and I know he will make someone very happy.”    He’s very pleasant and calm.  His vast experiences at the track are reflected in his confident demeanor.  Tag retired sound but does have a lump on the inside of his left hind shin from interference when racing.  This is purely cosmetic and only needs a protective boot if he’s trotting at extreme speed.  This big, stout, well mannered gelding would be a good candidate for historical reenactment, mounted patrol, foxhunting, dressage, or eventing.

This huge solid gelding is simply a pleasure to take down the trails.  Nothing seems to faze him.  He is steady and quiet.  He confidently navigates new obstacles, logs steep hills in his calm easy way.  He happily goes first or last in a group as well as alone. The male rider on the trails is novice and 6’4”.  Tag was a perfect gentleman for him; “He feels very strong and powerful underneath you.” He moves nicely in the ring, doing beautiful, balanced 20m circles. He has a good walk, trot; he canters but needs more training.  Tag was rescued from an abandonment situation.
