This is an unusually nice 11 yr old pacing mare that is sound and fully transitioned.  She was shown in 4-H three yrs by a Novice, then turned out the past two years until a conscientious person brought her back to us.  Haylie gave Blue a refresher and had these comments: “Whiskey was a bit of challenge when we first got her in.  She just couldn’t figure out what she wanted to do. She was moody and a little pushy. But I think thats just because she wasn’t used to having a job, nor did she have the proper discipline when she did something wrong. She now acts like the well mannered mare I knew she could be.  After we got past the testing stage, she was very willing in whatever was ask.  I can imagine with a new person she will initially see how much she can get by with.  Any confident person can set the boundaries and have no problems with her.  She will trot in a snaffle on a relaxed rein. She will, however, rack with a shank bit, and she can move right out if you want!   Nothing bothered her out on the trails and road. She resented horses coming up too close to her when we first got her in but I think she is pretty much over that. I was riding with other horses right next to her the last couple of days we had her, and she didn’t seem to mind.  Blue was also ridden bareback and did fine.”  This mare responded well to her brief refresher course and would be quite an asset with an experienced family or in a lesson program.  She is sound, smooth, and ready to hit the trails.  Blue has  a 2:00 record and is by the top Australian sire In The Pocket.
