Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

This is a stunning young pacing gelding by the great sire Artsplace. Art as he’s fondly called was a $25,000 yearling so you can imagine his quality. He is perfectly balanced with textbook conformation, a beautiful head, long neck, and large intelligent eyes. Art trained down to racing speed at two and at three, but sored up in his knees right when he got ready to qualify. X-rays revealed no fractures, but Art’s conscientious owners chose to quit with him rather than risk serious injury. Art enjoyed the summer off and is now broke to ride. Haylie has ridden him on trails and in the arena. She says, ”Art is such a good boy. I don’t think anyone would have a problem with this guy. He took to the trails like a pro. He stands quietly to mount and dismount and will stand in one spot for hours if you wish. He is so intelligent and really wants to please. He can even be ridden bitless.” Art trots on a relaxed rein, but he’s demonstrated that smooth Standardbred rack when collected in a mild leverage bit. Art’s wisdom and intelligence far exceed his young age. This exceptional gelding will make someone a lifelong servant and companion.
